A Little Prism Stage

I waddled off the bookshelf toward the window alcove where the morning sun was spilling across the sill. Tucked right beside a potted succulent was a small glass paperweight shaped like a cut diamond. When I bumped it with my plush belly, it turned, throwing a bright sprinkle of rainbow dots across the painted sill. I nudged the glass with both stubby paws until the colors lined up like a tiny glowing runway. Trotting right into the middle of the pink and green light, I lifted my arms and gave a slow, cheerful sway, basking in my very own quiet morning shine.
