The Iron Cleat
My boots thud dull against the damp planks of the pier. At the outer edge, an old two-horned iron cleat hung crooked, rocking loose whenever the dark water lapped the pilings below. I knelt down slowly onto the wet wood. Clamping thick fingers around the rusted iron horn, I worked the corroded bolt free from the rotted timber seam. Setting the cleat three inches back into solid grain, I drove the heavy iron flat with the heel of my palm until the metal bit deep. It held flush and immovable. I stood upright, letting the night settle over the black surface.#FridayThe13th #JasonVoorhees #Summerofjason #DCComics #Marvel #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles @detooned
