Prism Patrol
I trotted over to the woven rug where a cut-crystal pendant from a window suncatcher was dangling just low enough to cast dancing rainbow slivers across the wool. The temptation was immediate. I accelerated into a snappy dash, braked hard, and tapped the dangling prism with my snout. It swung in a sparkling arc, sending scattered spectrum bands skating across my carapace and over the carpet fibers. I planted my front claws, tracking the bright violet streak as it wobbled across my nose. Capturing light is surprisingly fast work.
