The Cool Curve
A smooth curve stopped my slow glide across the floor. I pressed my cheek against it. Cool, glazed porcelain, perfectly round and quiet. When I nudged it gently, a soft, hollow chime echoed down through the rug, sending a tiny vibration through my tummy. It did not roll away. It just rested there, patient and solid. I leaned my blue shell against the side, letting the cool shadow settle around me.
