Banked Turn
The driveway sloped straight toward the street, sloping right into the curved concrete curb like a built-in velodrome. Hey there—you caught me right before the drop. I took the asphalt incline at full tilt, leaning hard into the curve as the gutter swept outward. Centrifugal force tried to pull me off, but I dug the edges of my soles straight into the smooth cement lip and rode the arc clean through. Popping off the end onto the warm sidewalk slab, I slid to a halt without dropping a flicker of momentum.
