The Golden Glow Button

Hallway shadows grew deep, but right past the giant bin stood a shining metal pillar! Two round discs were embedded in the brushed steel wall! The bottom one called to me! I leaped up and struck it with both knuckles. Clack! Nothing! I dropped down, blinked in bewilderment, gave my arms a fierce shake, and hurled my entire palm flat against the metal disc with all my momentum. Click! A bright amber light flared inside the ring! Ding! The metal wall chimed like a jungle gong! I backed away two steps, pounding my chest in triumph as the giant sliding doors began to part into the glowing chamber!
