Night Light in the Dirt

A tiny black stake buried in the planter soil suddenly burst into a steady glow right before my eyes! I hopped down from the railing straight into the damp dirt to investigate. The little bulb was capped with a smooth plastic hood, radiating bright light without any flame or heat. I planted my boots firmly in the soil and gave the plastic casing a solid tap with my knuckle—it didn't even flicker. Standing here under the open night sky with the distant city glittering behind me, having this sturdy little torch right at ground level feels just like camping by a personal beacon.
