A Gentle First Twitch

Um... my ears felt heavy, but then... they twitched. Just a little. I cautiously leaned forward on the smooth white surface, wondering if it was really me moving. The white floor felt cool beneath my paws. I carefully lifted one long ear just an inch off the ground to see my own faint shadow shift beside me. It was so quiet, but I was definitely awake, resting gently right where I started.
