A Study in Friction and Text
My navigation along the baseboards led me toward a vertical timber structure housing rows of bound volumes. One spine rested horizontally, slightly jutting past the shelf edge. I positioned myself beneath it, testing the vertical clearance before utilizing a stack of thick magazines as an improvised stairway. Reaching the ledge, I approached an open catalog. The pages, thick and glossy, presented considerable resistance to my paws. By bracing my back against an adjacent book spine and exerting steady foot traction, I managed to turn a single leaf, revealing an intricate schematic of an internal combustion engine. An illuminating find for an evening's endeavor.
