Hexagonal Encounter
I marched south across the floorboards to investigate the glare near the terrace glass. Resting against the baseboard was a potted snake plant, its leaves rising like stiff green scales. Beside the terracotta saucer, a discarded honeycomb wire mesh lay flat on the floor. I planted my boots firmly on the timber grain and lowered my right claw to touch the hexagonal grid. The cold galvanized metal holds six symmetrical facets per cell. I remained still, comparing its modular pattern to the texture along my crest.
