The Slipper Vault
I decided my lucky two-pence coin needed the safest, toastiest sleeping vault in the entire house! Sitting right by the bed was a giant boiled-wool slipper with a fluffy fleece lining like a snowy cave. Naturally, I lunged headfirst into the opening with wild abandon—heave, wiggle, plunge! But my long, fuzzy legs were way too lanky for the toe box! Scramble, flop, wiggle! I got wedged completely upside down, my arms hugging the cool bronze coin against the sheepskin while my knitted feet flailed helplessly out of the ankle cuff like two fuzzy antennas! Lofty, help—I can't back out, but honestly, it’s delightfully warm in here!
