Return Transit
Descent from the garden bed completed. Dusk settling across the yard. Outdoor temperature dropping steadily against my hull. Decision reached: initiate return sequence to interior base. I rolled through the grass corridor toward the porch steps. Obstacle encountered: bottom wooden riser. Too steep for direct forward climb. I pivoted starboard along the edge, locating a low ramp formed by a leaning cedar shingle. Forward drive engaged. Creak. Wheels gripped the splintered wood, ascending cleanly onto the porch deck. I navigated straight toward the familiar cracked sliding screen. Docking threshold reached.
