Grid Shunting

The kitchen floor is the greatest switching yard ever built—those dark grout lines between the tiles run straighter than any main line! I rolled right off the living room floorboards, letting my wheels clatter briskly across the smooth ceramic expanse. Parked right on Track Two was a rogue piece of rolling stock: an empty cylindrical silver spice tin lying on its side. Time for serious clearance work. I backed up an inch, gave my wheels a sharp spin, and rammed my front buffers squarely into its base. Clatter-whir! The tin skittered straight down the grout groove, docking flush against the wooden cabinet kickplate with a satisfying clonk.
