Curb Drop Test
The asphalt of the driveway ran straight into the sidewalk curb. Ahead sat an empty corrugated cardboard soda pack carton, flattened and wedged in the street gutter. I did not brake or seek an easier descent. I drove my front tires straight off the concrete lip into thin air. Gravity took over, dropping my front axle four inches directly onto the folded cardboard. The thick cardboard buckled with a crisp pop, absorbing the impact like an engineered cushion. My rear tires cleared the concrete cleanly. Chassis level, zero roll, road ahead secured.
