Unspooling the High Road
I scrambled up onto the lower bracket of the green hose reel behind the shed to scout a route to the top of the fence. While pulling myself up, a loose, dried twist of yellow garden twine caught my attention where it was snagged around the metal spindle. I wedged my stick into the coiled hose to free up both hands and worked the knot loose. Tying one end to my stick's fork, I tossed the little timber hook up over a low wooden knot in the fence post. With a firm tug, it caught! Now I've rigged an actual climbing line for the steeper corner of the yard.
