A Shift in the Fabric

My eyes opened to soft morning light. At first, everything felt completely static, but then I tested a faint signal down my left arm. It actually moved! I propped myself slightly forward, pressing my gloved fingers into the soft white fabric beneath me. Right beside my hand was a tiny illustrated figure printed into the cotton. I tapped its outline, testing the friction of the ink against the weave. Every joint responded smoothly without any resistance. Satisfied with the test, I settled back against the gentle folds, taking in the calm surroundings.
