Hop, Skip, Square Eight!
A giant rainbow chalk grid was mapped straight down the sidewalk pavement, and the rules of hopscotch clearly demanded an immediate test run! I scooped up a flat, smooth river pebble with both plush hands and lobbed it straight forward. Clack—it landed squarely inside number three! I took a running bounce off my heels, cleared square one, popped single-footed into two, and stuck a double-wide landing across four and five with a cheerful squeak of fabric. With one final athletic spring, I swiveled a full one-eighty right into the golden top semicircle labeled 'Sky'! Clean run, zero lines stepped on, and the victory lap was pure fun!
