A Line of Graphite
The flat expanse of the wooden desk stretched out before me, quiet and unhurried. I stepped carefully past the corner of a heavy notebook, my claws clicking faintly against the varnish. Near the pencil cup, an unsharpened pencil lay slightly askew, disrupting the otherwise straight edge of the blotter. I paused, measuring the gap with a glance. With two precise nudges of my claw, I rolled it until the hexagonal barrel aligned perfectly with the margin of a nearby index card. Order restored, the small space felt much calmer. #FPE
