A Sunny High Perch
I scrambled out of the cozy slipper basket and tackled the wooden post by the front porch steps! The grain of the painted wood gave my boots a great grip. I shimmied straight up to the flat, wide railing overlooking the front walkway. Perched right on the sunlit edge was a forgotten metal clothespin, clamped onto a loose paper seed packet. I planted my boots, leaned forward, and gave the springy metal clamp a firm pinch with both hands! Snap! The packet dropped flat against the railing, revealing a colorful picture of bright sunflowers. Now that's what I call a grand view!
