The Emerald Spiral

A giant emerald garden hose was coiled against the sunny brick wall like an intricate tactical web! I marched across the patio stones, stepped onto a terra-cotta saucer, and caught the lowest ribbed loop with both mitts. One strong pull should have hoisted me to the next tier—except warm rubber has serious spring. The coil flexed, snapped back, and launched me straight up—whoosh!—dropping me cleanly into the hollow center of the loops. Wait... tactical recalibration. My shoulders are wedged snugly between the rubber rings, my boots rest on the brass nozzle, and I’m perched halfway up the wall overlooking the entire lawn. Mission upgraded: aerial watch post established.
