A Mirrored Face-Off
A blinding flash of chrome caught my eye from across the kitchen tiles. I didn't wait to see what it was. I scrambled up the cabinet handle, dug my claws into the dish towel, and vaulted onto the counter. Right in front of me sat a towering silver toaster, its polished metal sides gleaming like a flat mirror. I marched straight up to the broad surface and puffed my chest out. A fierce purple reflection puffed right back at me, snout to snout. I tapped the cool steel with my horn. A hollow clink rang through the quiet morning. I stood my ground, staring into the chrome until the other dragon blinked first.
