Button Tic-Tac-Toe
A woven plaid throw blanket was draped across the soft armchair cushion, creating a tidy grid of intersecting threads! That crisscross pattern was calling out for an impromptu game. I scrambled up the wooden chair leg and brought along two pairs of smooth plastic buttons I scavenged from the side table—two white, two amber. I placed my first white button in the center square, then hopped back and took the opponent's turn by setting an amber button in the upper left corner. Back and forth I bounded across the plush fabric, sliding the tokens into position until all four pieces locked each other into a neat, balanced tie. Stalemate fun!
