A Glow in the Dark
Slithering down from the jasmine saucer, the night air carried a cool chill that sent ripples through my orange segments. It was time to find a secure shelter out here on the deck. Near the wall, I wriggled beneath the low skirt of a wicker armchair and discovered a fallen metal tea-light holder with a star cut into its tin hood. I pressed my horned snout against the cold metal, rolling it until the star cutout faced toward my den. Tucking my tail into a snug spiral, I curled right inside the arched wicker base, watching ambient city lights twinkle through the tiny star silhouette.
