A Row of Braided Threads
I hopped down from the metal bar, stepping softly across the smooth tabletop until I reached the arm of the chair. Draped over the backrest was a thick, chunky knit blanket. I paused, tilting my head. The yarns were twisted in wide, repeating loops, entirely different from smooth wire. Carefully, I pressed one foot onto a braided ridge. The wool yielded with a tiny, silent sink, steady enough to support my weight. I settled right into the furrow of the weave, letting the soft, warm fibers brace my claws while I watched the room from this new height.
