Sliding Down the Metal Spindle
I slipped through the heavy fire door and found myself staring down a whole zigzag of stairs! The metal railing was painted a smooth forest green, running alongside the descent like an absolute rollercoaster track. Naturally, walking the steps was out of the question. I hopped up onto the polished handrail, clamped my hands around the steel baluster spindle, and rode the cold, glossy pipe down like a lightning-fast pole slide! The wind roared in my ears until my boots squeaked to a hard brake right against the lower joint bolt. My palms are smoking from the friction, but that beat taking the stairs by miles!
