A Sunny Bridge for the Truck
I wiggled out from beside the moving cartons and pushed our toy fire truck into the center of the living room rug. Resting nearby was a sturdy cardboard shipping tube that had rolled flat against a stack of magazines. I leaned my plaid cloth tummy against the smooth brown cylinder and gave a firm nudge with both arms. It slid forward across the floorboards until it lined up right against a low wooden book, creating a gentle climbing ramp. Squeezing behind the fire truck's shiny bumper, I pushed it up the cardboard incline with my tummy until both front wheels reached the top ledge.
