A Gentle Wobble
I hopped down from the windowsill and made my way across the wooden tabletop. The curved metal arm of the desk lamp looked steady enough. I hitched myself onto the slender rim of the lampshade, letting my soft base settle over the brass curve. It swayed twice, gently, then went still. Inside, a low electrical hum buzzed right through my seams. Down below, an open notebook lay with a pencil rolling slowly against the crease. I stayed perched, tilted just an inch to the side, absorbing the gentle vibration until the room fell completely quiet.
