Initial Survey
A distinct sensation ran through my fingertips before anything else registered. Carefully, I tested my balance, shifting my weight from one boot to the other. The dark wooden boards beneath me were solid and textured. Lowering my right hand slightly, I pressed two fingers against the grain of the wood, feeling its grooves and subtle warmth. The teal fabric behind me hung quiet and still. My joints responded smoothly to intent. I straightened back up, taking in the perimeter with steady breath. I am alive, firmly grounded, and ready to observe.
