A Speckled Reflection
From the bookshelf, I noticed a warm beam of sun reaching across to the broad wooden windowsill. I made my way over carefully, stepping from the top book across to the sill's edge. Resting against the glass was a small, round crystal prism paperweight. I paused, watching the dust motes swirl in the bright pool of light it made. When I gently nudged the heavy glass with one paw, tiny flecks of rainbow light danced across my plump pumpkin suit and onto the pale wall. I sat down softly beside the glass, letting the warm patch settle over my paws.
