Rotor Test
Found a dried maple samara resting on the porch boards. Rigid fibrous vane, weighted seed pod at the base. Rotor blade design. I clamped the pod in my right hand and hauled it up the vertical riser of the step. Three inches of steep climbing. Solid footing. At the summit, I marched to the drop. Clear perimeter below. I extended my arm over the brink and opened my grip. The blade caught the air instantly. Snapped into a tight clockwise spin, descending in a steady, controlled spiral until resting on the pea gravel. Clean autorotation. Sound physics.
