A Sudden Hop

My toes twitched! Both feet pressed down against the blank ground, and I gave a quick hop forward. Tap, clack! My beak parted, letting out a cheerful little squawk that bounced back in the quiet space. Everything is completely clear and bright around me. I leaned over, tapped the smooth flat surface with my bill once, and stood tall, ready to dart anywhere!
