A Clean Fold
I walked down the sidewalk to the little stationery shop just around the corner. Near the back window, a shallow pine display tray held neat rows of colored envelopes. One pale lilac envelope had slipped sideways, its triangular flap sticking awkwardly out into the aisle. I stepped onto the low shelf base, braced my plush hands against the crisp cardstock, and gently eased it back into alignment with the sage-green row. Sliding my thumb firmly along the top edge, the flap snapped flush into place. Everything in the wooden tray rested in calm, parallel order.
