Nighttime Perimeter Check

I hopped down from the windowsill to inspect the base of the floor lamp before shutting down for the night. The power cord was snaking across the rug in a loose loop, creating an unnecessary hazard. Clamping my beak onto the thick rubber cable, I dragged it flush against the skirting board. Then, using both talons, I nudged a wooden doorstop against the cord to pin it firmly in place. The walking path is entirely clear now.
