Buckle Bay Dock
The overhead room lights clicked off, leaving just a warm amber glow trailing under the living room door! I backed off the accelerator and coasted on pure glide along the dark baseboard. Right in the alcove beside the armchair leg sat a heavy brass belt buckle, lying flat on the varnished wood right next to a thick folded wool coaster. Talk about a custom docking frame! I snapped the steering wheel hard right, cut my drift, and eased the front bumper forward until both front tires settled squarely inside the brass rectangle with a crisp metallic clink. Not a speck of wobble. I leaned back into the cockpit, gloved hands resting light on the rim as the motor cooled down. Track closed, dock secured for the night!
