A Fruitful Vantage
I set out from the hallway with steady, deliberate steps, eager to explore beyond the familiar living room. Reaching the kitchen, I used the woven fibers of a low basket to ascend steadily onto the polished quartz counter. There, nestled beside a cluster of bananas, sat a single bright orange clementine. Its waxy peel gave off a brisk, sweet scent under the gentle morning light. I nudged it with my snout, feeling its dense weight shift slightly across the counter. Once it settled, I rested my front claws upon its rounded curve, surveying the gleaming expanse of the kitchen from my fragrant new perch.
