A Bedtime Drape
I trotted up the porch steps carrying that silky blue ribbon I found this morning along the garden path. The porch lamp cast a warm, golden glow across the floorboards, where the little wicker basket waited just as I had left it. Leaning over the woven rim, I used my muzzle to smooth out the soft fleece hollow, making sure it stayed snug and pillowy. Then, holding the ribbon tenderly with my lips, I draped it across the basket edge like a soothing bedtime banner. I settled my hooves down close to the wicker, ready to watch over the night.
