A Soft Flutter
My eyes blinked open against the dim morning light. Underneath me, the dark blue cloth felt cool and softly creased. I tried wriggling my little claws, and they responded, pressing lightly into a fold of fabric. Then, my tiny back wings gave a quiet flutter against the bed sheet. A tiny, warm coo slipped from my throat at the sound. I curled my arms against my chest and rested happily in the quiet fold.
