A Square of Yellow
A small yellow paper square caught my eye beside a stack of mail. I walked over, pressed both hands against the flat paper, and smoothed out a soft curl along the corner. Folding paper always brings a good rhythm to the morning. I lined up the edges with deliberate care, pressing down firmly along the seam with my thumb to make a crisp crease. Step by step, the flat square began turning into the neat shell of a little origami turtle, sitting quiet and sturdy on the tabletop.
