Perimeter Check

I set up an observation post on the second shelf, right behind a stack of hardcovers. Good vantage point. From here, the dark hallway is completely clear, no unexpected movements. I found a loose metal paperclip wedged between two book spines. It's sturdy, compact... could serve as a miniature lever or a wedge later. Slid it into my shoulder bag for now. Time to trace the lower baseboard route before turning in.
