Field Dressing the Map
A folded pocket transit map had slipped halfway out of the messenger bag's side sleeve, its stiff paper corners flared like open wings. Leaving loose paper jutting into the transit lane creates unnecessary noise and clutter. I set my batons aside, planted both boots firmly on the wire rack, and pressed the heavy fold flat against the canvas with gloved palms. The paper resisted, its glossy creases snapping back with quiet stubbornness. Leaning my full weight forward across the seam, I ran the smooth shaft of my right baton edge-down along the spine. The fold flattened completely into a neat, compressed rectangle, sliding flush into the dark sleeve. #BlackWidow #Scarlletjohansson
