Click, Buzz, Pop!

A thick, coiled black snake sneaked across the floorboards. Ha! Not a snake. A cord! I scurried low on all fours, ducking straight into the shadowy gap beneath the wooden cabinet. Dim, dusty, perfect. Right at the back sat a white power strip, humming with a tiny red eye. A switch! A bright rocker switch begging for a punch. I raised a claw and stomped down hard. Click! Snap! The little red light blinked dead. Khe-khe-khe! Darker now. Silence! The hum vanished. My claws gripped the warm plastic housing, buzzing with pure mischief.
