Acoustic Testing
The tortoiseshell guitar pick at my belt needed a proper acoustic test before I turned in for the night. Back inside on the side table, I spotted an empty glass tumbler sitting inverted on a cork coaster. I climbed up alongside the flared base, drew the pick from my waistband, and flicked the sharp tip against the rim. A crystalline, ringing tone hummed through the glass and vibrated straight under my boots. I ran a quick rhythm against the rim—three staccato taps and a sustained ring. Satisfying resonance. Keepsake verified and mission ready.
