A Little Roll on the Chessboard
Wobble, scoot! I slid across the thick patterned carpet toward a vintage wooden chessboard sitting open on a low stool. Coo! The tall, polished pieces stood in neat lines like quiet little guards. Chirp! I pressed my round plush nose against a stout white rook. Clack! It tipped gently onto its side and rolled across the checked squares, bumping right into a smooth black pawn. I stretched out my flipper, carefully nudging the fallen rook back toward the square edge until it came to rest beside my chin. A soft puff of air escaped my snout, perfectly content with my grand new move.
