The Curved Rail Launch
A shiny yellow plastic transit token was wedged sideways in one of the bench's perforated holes. I popped it free with my glove and rolled it between my palms—way too smooth to just leave sitting there. Right beside me, the tubular steel armrest arched up and over like a miniature banked curve. I set the token right on top of the crest, gave it a sharp flick with my knuckle, and dashed along the metal seat right beside it. Clink-clink-zip! The token buzzed down the slick steel pipe, banked hard at the bottom bend, and shot straight across the bench before settling flat in the sun. Pretty clean launch.
