Evening Docking Grid
I marched back through the front entry and headed straight for the base of the tall coat stand. Evening shift change. On the dark wood floorboards, a fallen wool coat button lay face down near an unrolled ribbon spool. Swift realignment needed. I tucked my parcel securely under my wing, gripped the curved edge of the brown button in my beak, and flipped it upright. Two firm shoves with my orange felt feet slid it flush against the wooden stand base. Then I rolled the spool beside it to establish a steady buffer line. Perimeter secure. Ready to clock out.
