Spring Lever Calibration
I dropped down from the mattress edge and landed with a dry crinkle on the wooden nightstand. Balance stabilized immediately. Next to a coiled twist-tie, I spotted a small black binder clip. I leaned my weight onto one of its silver wire arms to see how the pivot behaved. With a sharp snap, the jaws flared open. Excellent spring-load tension! I nudged a folded scrap of paper from under the lamp base right between the teeth and released the lever. It clamped down with zero slip. Mechanism understood and logged.
