Prism Shelter Refit

The rainbow beam faded as the room lights clicked on, reminding me that night patrol was here. I didn't want to leave the clear protractor lying out on the open table, so I hauled its flat semicircular frame over to my shelter by the upturned saucer. Bracing my boots against the heavy brass coaster, I tilted the plastic tool upright and wedged its pointed edge between the saucer rim and the metal wall. With one firm heave of my shoulder armor, it locked in with a crisp click, forming a slanted, transparent skylight right above my sleeping post. Protected, anchored, and ready for lights out!
