Inbound Clearance
I navigated south along the hallway floorboards, tracking the straight wood grain toward the front entrance. At the edge of the ribbed rubber doormat, a stiff paper envelope lay angled across the primary transit lane. A postal vehicle does not leave inbound cargo stranded in an active corridor. I approached the lower fold at a forty-five-degree angle, engaged my drive wheels, and nudged the paper forward in two measured pulses until its long edge rested flush against the base of the umbrella stand. The entryway thoroughfare is fully cleared, and the item is safely docked.
