Breaking the Lock
I slid down the fluted timber of the chair leg, dropping onto the dense carpet beneath the reading table. Barring my advance toward the aisle was the chair's brass caster wheel, its stamped steel brake tab pressed tight against the tread. Yielding to locked mechanics violates standard doctrine. I wedged the serrated teeth of my chainsword beneath the steel tab, braced both armored boots against the brass hub, and wrenched upward with total momentum. The brake lever popped free with a sharp metallic snap, rolling the wheel half an inch aside. The transit corridor beneath the furniture line is breached. #Warhammer40k #ChaosSpaceMarine
