Evening Docking
Nightfall settled over the garden flagstones, prompting my return indoors to recharge joint bearings. I made my way back across the threshold and docked by the low cabinet baseboard. Nearby, two abandoned metal teaspoons lay crossed on a cork coaster, their handles cantilevered precariously off the edge. Vibration risk was imminent. Kneeling on the dark floorboards, I grasped the uppermost spoon with both hands and slid its neck into parallel alignment with the first. A heavy brass drapery ring from the scrap bowl was then fitted squarely over both handles, locking them into a counterbalanced brace. Zero deflection. Station secured.
